STPI – Creative Workshop & Gallery is pleased to return for the 2025 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong, with a specially-curated Kabinett presentation featuring Singaporean-British artist Kim Lim (1936–1997). The booth highlights STPI works by key figures from Asia’s contemporary art world: Pacita Abad (1948–2004, Philippines), BenCab (1942, Philippines), Lee Bul (1964, South Korea), Eko Nugroho (1977, Indonesia), Shinro Ohtake (1955, Japan), Do Ho Suh (1962, South Korea/London) and Natee Utarit (1970, Thailand), alongside well-recognised Singaporean artist Yanyun Chen (1986, Singapore).
Following Kim Lim’s most recent retrospective at National Gallery Singapore (2024), STPI is proud to platform her works on paper in the Kabinett sector. Widely acclaimed as a sculptor and printmaker, Lim’s work has been lauded for its artistic and historical value. She is the subject of posthumous retrospectives at Whitechapel Gallery (2022), Tate Britain (2020) and Camden Arts Centre (1999), underscoring the significance of her contributions and continued relevance. Uniquely exploring space, minimalism and organic forms, Lim’s printmaking practice is a key example of how the medium can be continually reinvented through fresh innovation, resonating strongly with STPI’s own ethos.
Do Ho Suh’s thread drawing series was a breakthrough development derived from his long-standing relationship with STPI. A selection of these will be presented at the booth, alongside other works on paper. Several of Suh’s STPI works were featured in his survey Tracing Time at National Galleries of Scotland (2024), and in May 2025, Tate London will present the artist’s solo exhibition, Walk the House.
A pioneer of South Korea’s contemporary art scene, Lee Bul’s body of work has developed into a universe of critical commentary on key societal concerns. STPI will present a selection of her Untitled – CC prints, which reinterpreted her iconic female cyborg sculptures. Lee recently presented her Genesis Facade Commission for The Met, New York, and has an upcoming solo exhibition co-curated by M+, Hong Kong and Leeum Museum of Art, Seoul opening in September 2025.
