Cyanotype Workshop | Brushes of Light

Explore the unexpected beauty of everyday objects with sunlight!

Grasp the basics of cyanotype printing in this beginner-friendly workshop. Prepare light-sensitive chemicals for printmaking and create dynamic compositions with everyday objects. Use sunscreen to brush on painterly marks, evoking the soft gradients and expressive strokes of watercolour. Expose your printing paper to ultraviolet (UV) rays and reveal striking silhouettes in vivid hues of blue.

Participants are encouraged to bring objects with interesting cut-out patterns—such as lace, mesh or leaves—for this workshop.

Artist-led Workshop | Papermaking Collage with Goh Beng Kwan

Discover the art of papermaking collage with Goh Beng Kwan.

Learn from the Cultural Medallion artist in this hands-on workshop as he sheds light on his collage practice. Create vibrant and layered compositions through a combination of papermaking and collage. Guided by Goh, participants will learn to embed textured materials into wet coloured pulp, forming eclectic collages of handmade paper and found objects inspired by artworks from the artist’s 2024 residency with STPI.

Participants are encouraged to bring materials from their everyday surroundings to incorporate into their collage. These materials should be thin, flat objects with interesting textures, such as fabric, paper scraps and leaves.

Artist-led Workshop | Sculptural Paper Relief with Han Sai Por

Draw inspiration from nature’s forms to create contoured terrains on paper with Han Sai Por.

Learn from the Cultural Medallion artist in this hands-on workshop, inspired by the sculptural qualities of her STPI works. Guided by Han, participants will learn to construct low-relief landscape moulds and cover it in patterned gampi paper, creating a dynamic paper relief that recalls topographical forms in the natural world.

Participants are kindly requested to prepare a simple line sketch of a landscape (12 cm x 20 cm) for this workshop.

The tour will include a glimpse of into the Creative Workshop, where the artists collaborated with our expert printmakers and papermakers to create the exhibited works.
